The Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista, AR
The Mildred B. Cooper Chapel is an absolutely beautiful and grand chapel set in the lush surrounding of the woods in Bella Vista, AR, next to Lake Norwood. You'll also hear it called the "Chapel in the Woods," or simply the "Cooper Chapel." It's architect was Euine Fay Jones, who was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Jones is also the architect who created the well known and equally magnificent Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, AR.
-Open to the public from 9-5, 7 days a week
-Small paved looped trail around the chapel
-Visit the chapel for the 4 days leading up to Christmas, to see it beautifully lit in the evenings until 8PM.
The paved trail loops around the chapel with several bench stops along the way.
In the summer you can peek through the trees at Lake Norwood,
but during "leaf off" you'll see some pretty great views of the lake.
Take the office trail and see if you can spot this guy!
My kids and I come here often just to get outdoors for an easygoing but very pretty walk.
